Webinar covering the opportunities and regional shifts in the billionaire population and their implications for non-profits, providers of financial services, luxury goods, and more

Following the release of Altrata’s Billionaire Census 2024, we held a live panel discussion to delve into the report’s findings including regional shifts in wealth, the growing female billionaire population, and the cross-industry implications these changes have on philanthropy, financial services, and luxury spending.

Access the webinar on-demand to learn how you can engage with this highly exclusive demographic. Whether you’re targeting existing or prospective billionaire clients and donors or looking to learn more about their broader impact, the webinar will provide the insight you’re looking for.

Key Highlights from the Webinar:

  • Billionaire Population Status Update: The global billionaire population stands at approximately 3,300 individuals controlling approximately $12 trillion in wealth (up 70% from $7 trillion in 2014), with their wealth growing faster than other wealthy segments.
  • Regional Insights: Billionaires are highly concentrated in three regions: North America (over 1/3 of the population with 1,000+ in the US), Europe (980 billionaires), and Asia (806 billionaires, with India growing 16% while China declined).
  • The Rise of Female Billionaires: The typical billionaire is male (87%), self-made (2/3 of the population). However, demographics are shifting with more female billionaires expected (projected to increase from 13% as of 2023 to 17% by 2040).
  • Wealth Transfer: A massive wealth transfer of $13.9 trillion is expected in the next 10-15 years as aging billionaires pass assets to the next generation, which will likely accelerate changes in how billionaire wealth is invested and deployed, particularly around technology, sustainability, and social impact.
  • Connecting with Billionaires: Organizations are connecting with billionaires through highly targeted approaches – for example, private banks are creating specialized programs for billionaires’ children, strategically positioning themselves to retain assets through generational wealth transfer.
